Letter from the Head March 2012


Dear Parents Carers and Students


Please find enclosed with this letter your child’s Term 4 report. Should you feel there are any aspects of this report you wish to discuss with members of staff then please in the first instance contact your child’s Mini School and they will be able to answer any question or put you in contact with relevant subject staff.
This past term has of course been very busy with Year 8 and Year 9 Options. This year we arranged these events over a number of evenings. All were very well attended by families who also provided us with excellent feedback.

LITTER -PICKING IN THE COMMUNITY

Students from Pent Valley Technology College did their bit for the environment last week when they left the books, pens and classroom behind and spent the day outdoors picking up litter.

PARALYMPIC COMPETITION


Pent Valley Technology College hosted an inclusive sports competition at Pent Valley Leisure Centre on Saturday 17th March.  The competition, aimed at Year 5 to Year 8 students from across Kent allowed both able bodied students and those with a physical impairment to compete in sporting events together, and on the same team.

"PARVAM OPUS" 6th FORM ART EXHIBITION

Creating a masterpiece can take a long time especially if you want it to be perfect, but Pent Valley Technology College's 6th Formers took, only two days to produce 'moo cards' and thereby created a miniature visual arts exhibition. Parvam Opus which in Latin means 'littlework' was the title of a three day exhibition that opened in Pent Valley's Art Block on Monday 26th March.

STAFF AT PENT VALLEY IN DEFIBRILLATOR TRAINING


Pent Valley Technology College now has a defibrillator available for use, should the necessity arise, thanks to the help of SADS UK (Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome).

Several members of staff participated in a defibrillator training workshop orgainsed by SADS UK and instructed by the Ken Kennedy a member of the South East Coast Ambulance Service.
